Revolution USA interviewed Alec Monopoly, a Rolex Submariner Replica brand Ambassador and graffiti artist at the launch of Rolex Submariner Replica’s new boutique in Aventura Mall.

When did you realize that you wanted to become an artist?

I know I feel like I was born to be an artist. Growing up, my mother taught me to paint and draw. She encouraged me to create artwork.

What type of art did your predecessors do?

I used to draw. I went to art school. It was the only class I focused on in middle and high school. Pop Art, bright colors, Andy Warhol and Basquiat, Lichtenstein,Rolex Submariner Replica and Andy Warhol were always my favorites. This kind of art was appealing to me. Bright and happy.

Are you able to recall the first piece of art that you created and was really satisfied or proud?

It was probably in high school that we studied a David sculpture. After I finished, I realized that it was just as realistic as the original. I felt like I had some kind of superpower. [laughs]

Where do you get your inspiration for culture, current affairs or anything else?

Traveling, street art and experiencing life are all great things. I do a great deal of graffiti. When I read about art history, reading about Picasso and Basquiat, and then putting it into my vision to push that forward.

What do you prefer when you are working: silence or music

I enjoy listening to music.Richard Mille Replica Watches It depends on my mood and how I feel. The music is never the same. Sometimes I listen hip-hop or techno and sometimes I listen Bob Marley chill. When I need to work fast, I like minimal beats and techno.
